We are looking for an experienced VMU Manager to run our depot.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing standards and procedures for the VMU
  • Setting and maintaining service levels
  • Supervising team members to ensure that their designated duties are performed correctly and in a timely fashion, escalating any problems or shortfall areas to the Regional Manager.
  • Maintaining customer relationships and improving response and delivery times
  • Updating service methods to improve overall efficiency
  • Resolving any service problems and customer complaints
  • Conducting periodic appraisals with team members and identifying any areas for improvement
  • Creating and presenting regular reports to senior management.
  • Maintaining contacts for commercial growth and business development.
  • Instructing customers on equipment operation, care and maintenance
  • Ensure that the image and levels of service within the department is in line with Company standards
  • Ensure that all company H&S and Trade Associations policies, procedures and minimum standards are met and that all statutory requirements including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire, health and safety etc. are adhered to.
  • Ensure expected financial performance is met or exceeded.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HGV and trailer maintenance
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a workshop environment
  • Be flexible and have the ability to work unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation.
  • NVQ Level 3 or IRTE qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician, but equivalent qualifications considered.
