We are looking for an experienced VMU Manager to run our depot.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing standards and procedures for the VMU
- Setting and maintaining service levels
- Supervising team members to ensure that their designated duties are performed correctly and in a timely fashion, escalating any problems or shortfall areas to the Regional Manager.
- Maintaining customer relationships and improving response and delivery times
- Updating service methods to improve overall efficiency
- Resolving any service problems and customer complaints
- Conducting periodic appraisals with team members and identifying any areas for improvement
- Creating and presenting regular reports to senior management.
- Maintaining contacts for commercial growth and business development.
- Instructing customers on equipment operation, care and maintenance
- Ensure that the image and levels of service within the department is in line with Company standards
- Ensure that all company H&S and Trade Associations policies, procedures and minimum standards are met and that all statutory requirements including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire, health and safety etc. are adhered to.
- Ensure expected financial performance is met or exceeded.
Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HGV and trailer maintenance
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a workshop environment
- Be flexible and have the ability to work unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation.
- NVQ Level 3 or IRTE qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician, but equivalent qualifications considered.
