Transport Planner - Glengormley

Responsibilities:

• Route Planning: Coordinate and plan vehicle routes to maximize efficiency and minimize empty miles, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.
• Driver Support: Liaise with drivers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any on-the-road challenges.
• Customer Communication: Work closely with our Customer Service Team to provide real-time updates on shipment progress.
• Transport Management: Maintain and update our internal Traffic Management System, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
• Regulation Compliance: Monitor drivers’ hours and ensure compliance with transport-related regulations.
• Issue Escalation: Communicate operational challenges to senior management when necessary.

• Experience: Previous experience in a traffic or transport planning role is essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of UK and Irish operations is highly desirable.
• Organisational Skills: Methodical, detail-oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities under pressure.
• Compliance Expertise: Strong knowledge of drivers’ hours regulations and other transport-related rules is required.
• IT Proficiency: Competent with computer systems and software relevant to transport planning.
• Commercial Awareness: A sound understanding of fleet operations and cost-effective planning.
