Traffic Planner - MTS Newtownabbey

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Liaising with drivers within a busy environment
• Ensure routes run on time
• Report any issues to the Planner /Management
• Dealing with drivers’ hours
• Respond promptly to Customers enquiries
• Prioritise workload and assist routing and planning of vehicles to ensure all deliveries/collections meet customers' expectations.

The Person:

• This role is ideally suited to an individual who has previous experience within a traffic department
• Essentially like any traffic-role the overall objective is to ensure that the customer receives a first-class service in a cost-effective way.
• Experience in UK, Irish & European work would be advantageous
• Disciplined and methodical approach and able to keep up with changing priorities.
• Demonstrate a keen eye for detail whilst working under pressure.
• A demonstrable understanding of transport-related issues including drivers' hour’s regulations is essential.
• Sound knowledge of the commercial aspects of operating a fleet.
• Computer literate
