We are seeking an experienced and driven Deep Sea Import Operations Coordinator to join the Montgomery Transport Group. In this pivotal role, you’ll take ownership of managing import shipments from start to finish — from liaising with global agents to ensuring goods are customs cleared on arrival. You’ll play a key part in strengthening existing customer relationships, driving efficiency across operations, and maximising business opportunities within the group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with established overseas agents to secure and manage import bookings.
• Monitor and track live shipments, proactively resolving issues to ensure smooth delivery.
• Manage customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance and timely release of goods.
• Build on existing Montgomery Transport Group relationships to generate additional business.
• Promote internal services and reduce reliance on subcontractors.
• Deliver a first-class service to clients, providing regular updates and handling queries efficiently.
• Maintain accurate shipment documentation and operational reporting.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in a similar import operations role (deep sea experience highly desirable).
• Solid understanding of customs clearance procedures and UK import regulations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain lasting relationships.
• Commercially minded, with a proactive approach to identifying and converting opportunities.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident IT user with experience in freight forwarding/logistics systems.
